You are number 1 in Google

“You are number 1 in Google”

This Email subject you might get one day is the dream coming true. If this kind of an Email will wait for you in your Inbox, there is no much more to say (unless it’s Spam mail), you have reached the top. To make Google or any other Se to rank you first in a good keyword Is not easy and if you are really there- good job.

The meaning of being #1 in Google is much more about money and opportunities than about the rank itself. You can be #1 in Google for full sentence that you have on your blog, 16 words and you match them all like glove. This is not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about being #1 in Google as a way of making money online. The way to make money online can be different for many people, can include other aspects and thoughts but if your Google rank is number one- you are on the road to make some real money online.

I don’t want to talk about the ways and strategies of SEO, about how to be top ranked in search engines, how to bring more traffic, how to build links and so on, I would like to talk about the meaning of being ranked as #1 in Google and for that I will take the key word “used tires” as my example.

For many of us, “used tires” is not the way to make money online, but if you are on top of this search, you can make lots of money online. Think of all the traffic you will get to your website, think of all the users that searching for this key word and for key words that contains it inside, this of all the links you will get and the page rank you can have. But this is not all. You can advertise on the side some major tires resellers; locate some geo targeted banners for garages that are selling tires and link to websites of tires users, fans, collectors and more. Big companies will ask to work with you, sellers will ask you to sell their tires, and related affiliate programs will chaise after you and more.

The big advantage you have now if you like to make money online is to optimize all your traffic into money. Consider all the offers and all the options you have and make the best that will get you the highest revenue.

You are maybe #1 in Google but still you have long way if you like to make money online.

Becoming an Affiliate (Part 2) - Commission Types

There are several commission types that you as an affiliate can choose to work with and earn money according to these commission types - I will review the most common commission types in this post.

Revenue Share:

One of the most popular commission type. In revenue share, you share the revenue of the client you brought to the affiliate program with them. The revenue share formula varies according to the product and the type of contract so be sure to read the terms and conditions but the general idea is this: You are set on a commission type of (for example) 20%, the sale is $100 you get $20 the affiliate program gets the rest. If the client makes another purchase of $100 you will get another $20, usually it’s for life time.

Please note that most of the affiliate programs will try to tempt you with a high offer of revenue sharing like 50% for the first month. Be sure to check what happens in the long run (after the first month) as revenue share is profitable in the long run and not in the short run.

CPA (Cost Per Acquisition)

You get paid a fixed payment for a client who made a purchase of the product. For example a client made a purchase (regardless of the price), you get $100 CPA. Since this is a one time fixed payment, you will not make any additional commission for that client if he makes reoccurring purchases.

Please note that once the affiliate program paid you your CPA commission they actually “bought” the client from you, unlike revenue share where you share the revenue from the client with the affiliate program.

CPL (Cost Per Lead)

Similar to CPA. The only difference is that the client doesn’t have to make a purchase, but needs to sign up in order for you to get a CPL commission. Usually the CPL commission is very low and varies between $0.50 - $10 .

Hybrid

Hybrid commission is a combination of revenue share and CPA commission. You will receive a commission from the revenue of the client but you will also receive a CPA payment for the client. The CPA payment will be much lower than the one you will get if you work solely on CPA, but it’s still the best deal you can get since it combines revenue share as well.

CPC (Cost Per Click)

This commission type is more common with advertisements you place on your website or blog such as Google Adsense which was already mentioned in previous posts.

Payment for click on your ads varies according to the relevance of the advertisement to the page displayed.

CPM - Cost per 1000 impressions

Similar to the CPC concept only you get paid a fixed price for 1000 viewers of an advertisement. No Click is needed.

This is a summary of all the popular commission types. In the long run, revenue share is better. In the short run the CPA is better. Think what’s best for you and choose. Don’t be afraid to negotiate a better deal with the affiliate program before you start promoting them.

I will discuss about the methods of promotions in Part 3 of Becoming an affiliate.

Good luck

Becoming an Affiliate (Part 1) - What is an affiliate?

One of the most common ways of making money online is becoming an affiliate (partner) and sell products for a company or companies.

What is an affiliate?

An affiliate is an advertiser who partners with a company in order to sell its products and receive commissions (I’ll get to the commission on my next post) for the products sold.

If we take this concept to the real life, we can see that all the supermarkets, malls, stores, convenient stores are affiliates of companies and get commission for selling products such as clothes, food, newspapers cigarettes and basically anything people buy.

It’s the same online.

A webmaster, blog owner, person with a lot of friends and a lot of influence, can partner with a company and sell products for that company. The company will take care of everything relates to the actual sale of the product and the affiliate will take care of directing the costumer to the company.

Usually affiliates find the companies to partner with in affiliate programs or affiliate networks.

An affiliate program is usually a website in which the affiliate can choose the products he wishes to sell, get marketing tools (like banners, text and reviews) and follow his sale statistics. In addition the affiliate will handle the payment issues at the affiliate program.

An affiliate network is a network of affiliate programs. In one place the affiliate can partner with several affiliate programs instead of having to join several programs in different websites.

I will follow up on this post with further explanation about the process of becoming and affiliate.

Make Money Online From Opportunities

Let’s say there is a large group of protesters on a hot sunny day in a neighborhood where there’s no stores or kiosks and you opened a stand which sales food and water. Now let’s say you are the only one there… Sounds good doesn’t it? you will probably make a lot of money that day.

Well now let’s say there’s a new thing on the internet called online dating, and you have the only website promoting it? you are going to make a lot of money.

I wanted to discuss opportunities, every now and then a new product is born and that product is usually promoted by affiliates (webmasters, blog owners), if you happen to be the one who catches an opportunity with a new product who has very few affiliates promoting and almost no competition for you, you can make some good money.

Sounds great, right? Well, finding that opportunity is not that easy. If it was then everybody would share a piece of the endless money pie. In order to find opportunities you need to read a lot, browse a lot and be up to date with news, buzz, technology, affiliate marketing and so on. Don’t be afraid of competition but don’t get left behind.

Once you’ve found your gold, do your best to keep it and try to make it grow as fast as you can, because the competitors will be waiting for you just around the corner.

One thing you should be aware of is scams. Now and then there are new companies that jump up from nowhere, you work hard for it and never get paid. Investigate, do some research only then act.

Good luck,

Ben

Make money online by referring people.

“Refer a friend”, “sent it to your address book contacts”, “forward this issue”, “bring us your mates”…….

Sounds familiar? I know why. They want you to work for them.

Now the answer is who are they? And how much money they are ready to pay you to do so.

At the age of making money online, everybody is online. If you are not online you do not exist. If you want people to know you are online, you need traffic. The main idea to bring traffic is that is not easy! Millions of millions of internet users and you want them to reach to your website, its not easy at all- but, you can do it. CEO’s, webmasters, blog owners, Companies manages and so on like to have more and more traffic into their websites, and they are ready to pay you to help them to.

Some of the structures are by sending Emails, you get the template from the paying side, and you use it as you like. If you Spam, they do not really care. Send the template to your friends, family, co workers and even people you do not know. The link on the Email does have some ID of you, for the case you will drive some traffic to the paying side. In this case you will get paid for referring a visitor\ sign up\ new member\ buyer and so on, to their website.

Another referring option is by links from your small website or blog to the paying side. You can locate one link only or a banner and count the clicks you refer to the other website. The same structure works with more links. ( make sure you monitor the clicks from each ). The payment in this case can be per each click PPC, per acquisition CPA or any other payment deal you close. If you like to make real money online, im not sure this is the best way.

Referring a friend as a member is probably the best way to make money online with referring friend’s structure. If you are a member in a dating website, playing Casino or Poker online, use the services of Pay Pal or even EBay user, you can refer anybody and to get real good money for that. Its also the easiest way because you get all the tools to do so from your personal account. For example go to your Poker account, search for the “refer a friend” option and you can see the page with the PHP to send the mail immediately to anybody. If this guy that you sent the mail to will go and play poker online, your player account will be credited for nice amount of money.

It’s the age of traffic, we all want more and more traffic to our services, the real question is how you can help others to drive traffic and how much online cash they are ready to pay you.

Make Money Selling Links

One of the ways for webmasters to get a higher search engine ranking is by buying text links. Since Google invented the PageRank which is basically a tool which displays a ranking of a website based on several criteria such as content, incoming links and so on. Based on that technology a whole industry was created around the concept of ranking high in the Google search engine.

One of the aspects of the Google Page rank is that if a website links to another website,Google will determine the quality of that link according to its page rank.

That’s where this idea comes handy - Build a website or a blog, about specific subjects, build links (the same way you are going to sell them) and once you get your page rank (Page Rank updates happens every 3-4 months or so), sell links to people who are interested. Don’t worry they will contact you.

Of course, the more focused your website is on a certain subject, most chances you will receive requests from webmasters who promote the same genre of websites. The more websites you have, the more links you sell.

The logic:

Well, i already explained it above.

Happy linking,

Ben

Online Bolger’s know the idea of their visitors, they know what they like. If your Blog is online for content you upload, for family use, for friends or for studies – it doesn’t matter, you still can make money out of it. I know some online Blogs which are clear. No Ad’s at all, no commercials and no links to anywhere. The webmasters of the Blogs know the effect of those things for their blogs and decided not to have anything that is not part of the Blog.

On the other side, Blogs who are dedicated to make money. Gamer’s blogs ( like this Rummy Blog ), sells blog, blogs to buy shoes to purchase flight tickets, to order food and more. These blog’s owners are making money! Sometimes they are making a lot of money online.

For you, as an old blog owner, the middle way is the right way. All you have to do is to find your place between the two options. Make up your mind about the benefits and the negative effect on your blog and find the right way to keep operating your blog for the main purpose and to make some money online with it.

How do i get paid?

An important question you should ask yourself before you start your making money adventures online is how do you get paid.

You should consider just about any financial aspect to getting paid from a 3rd party company online, aspects such as:

1. Tax

2. Payment Methods

3. Currency

Tax

In most countries one must pay an income tax for just about any amount he receives. In a perfect world the amount you are supposed to pay is the amount you will eventually see in your bank account. This world is obviously not perfect.

Payment Methods

There are practically hundreds of payment methods on the internet. All of them make their living from a commission taken from your commission.

You should investigate prior to choosing your payment method, whether you can use that payment method in your country, whether you can withdraw the funds available to your bank account and the fees that the payment method takes from your funds.

Let’s take PayPal for example: One of the most common payment methods online. Using PayPal you can’t withdraw the funds to your bank account unless you live in the USA or have a US bank account. In addition PayPal takes a very high commission from any transaction of money paid to you. Take that into your consideration.

Currency

The Dollar value is very low nowadays (unless you live in the USA). This is why you should try and get paid in other currencies such as the Euro or GBP. However, it’s not that simple. If you have a Dollar bank account, receiving Euro money is impossible unless you convert it, and if you forgot to do it on time your payment might be rejected.

These are some of the factors you should consider before you even start to plan your initiative online.

Good luck!

Spam (Don’t Spam!!) as a way of making money online

Login to your e-mail and check your junk / spam folder. What did you find there? Viagra ads, Casino ads, bunch of african guys trying to help you to inherit some money from someone?

Well, if it didn’t work your junk / spam folder was empty.

However spam is not only e-mail related. If you have a product you want to sell you can spam it anywhere whether it’s Facebook, Bebo, Blog comments and so on.

Spam is a good easy and instant way to generate traffic to your website, as the spammers you choose whether to make it targeted and non targeted.

Now you’re probably asking yourself what is he doing? is this the only way he figured as a way to make money online? spam? My answer is no. This is one of the ways and furthermore a way which i don’t recommend from the following reasons:

1. Illegal.

2. Can cause the exact opposite from what you intended to do - meaning people will reject you forever.

3. Annoying.

4. Did i mention spamming is illegal?

And now for the logic behind spamming:

Imagine you sit at a restaurant eating a romantic dinner with your girlfriend / wife or girlfriend while wife is somewhere else :), and suddenly a guy with flowers approaches you and asks you to buy flowers to the Mrs. Annoying isn’t it? makes you wanna punch the guy in the face. Well, he got his way - you bought the flowers, but he was spamming you.

So this is for your consideration. We don’t promote spamming as a way of making money. We don’t like it. In other words DON’T SPAM!

Wanna make money with Google, remember this…..

Wanna make money and lots of money with Google Adsense, that’s good idea, but remember- nothing comes easy.

Choosing the Google Adsense option for your blog or website is a good option. You can have lot of space available for the Google Adsense and you have no trouble to work with them, but the space you give to Google belongs to Google and you might not want this to happened. Google will convert your traffic and you will get clicks, that’s for sure, but what about non targeted traffic ? Try to remember that any specific advertising will convert more and you can make more money online with it. For example, you have Bicycle related blog and your traffic into it is nice, 1000 unique a day. You can give Google Adsense some space for the Ad’s and the main idea of your blog, Bicycle; will be the main issue on the Ad’s.

For me it’s good, but not excellent.

You want to make money online; you must do the best to convert your traffic into money. Think of a visitor to your blog that is looking to buy Bicycle. He red some, looked at the pictures and no now he like to buy, is this case, the Google Adsense can track his eyes with some attractive ad and you lost the visitor. Here, an Ad to Bicycle reseller is much better for the visitor and for you. I’m not saying Google Adsense is bad, no! its good, but sometimes you can do better alone. The same visitor, if he will clock on the Google Adsense, he might go to another Bicycle related blog or website and he had no progress toward the purchase he like to do.

I can suggest you the best thing there is, try. Locate some related Ad’s for affiliate program and resellers together with Google Adsense. Monitor the clicks on each and your Return On Investment for each. Give it at least 3 months and later on you will know better how to make money online.
