Look for the right forum to join

When you are looking to join any online forum, make a little search before. Remember that you want to expose your business to as many people as possible and you want these people to be relevant for you. For example if you like to advertise your new coffee that you market to the world via the internet, make sure that the forums you search for can really help you. Coffee lovers, local coffee shops, coffee drinkers, people who test new coffee’s, coffee’s clubs and items collectors and so on. If you are looking to talk about your new poker website, the idea is the same.

Join the forum/s

All you have to do is to sign up for the forum. Add your details and a picture to your profile and you are in. Sometimes you will have to wait for some email that will say ” you are 100% in “. As soon as you are a member of the forum, you can read more posts, send messages to other forums members, and contact the administrator and so on. This is the perfect time for your first post.

Remember that you are new on this forum; most of the members do not know you and do not know what you have to offer. Your posts and replies, will not be red to the end, most of the members will never know you and do not wait for private messages. Step three: first steps online as an affiliate.

Now you are an affiliate, you want to make money online with the affiliate program you have chosen. First get to know your admin and your options.

Every affiliate program has admin area for you to use. The admin is for you only and you have the password to log in. Remember that you see the items, the affiliate program wants you to see and they also have all the access. Admin area contains these basic fixtures:

• Account details
• Payment details
• Reports and stats
• Marketing materials
• Links / tracking links / profiles or what ever they call it.
• Any additional options.

Try your stats options, make sure you understand how to open new links and profiles, see all the banners, landing pages, mailers and so on you have to advertise with. Ask your account manager some questions regarding to make sure he/ she is professional.

The affiliate program must give you all the tools to make money online with your advertisements. You must have the power to analyze your traffic in high level in order to know exactly which of your advertisements the best are. Each banner and text link must have its own tracking and you can see in the stats which ones are the best. You can excel your revenue per link, day, game, option and more. All these things together will help you to maximize your benefits.

The most important thing to remember is that you are here to make money online; the affiliate program will make more money than you with your traffic. They must give you everything you need in order to do it best and if they are not….. Maybe you need another affiliate program.

Step two: Choose affiliate program

Make a list and write what each affiliate programs offers you in terms of:

• Payment- As an affiliate you probably have some account you work via, you know the payment days and the numbers you are going to see each payment. You have the online money account you work with (Pay-Pal, EpassportE, Neteller, Credit card and so on). Make sure all these are available for you in the affiliate network you choose or make sure you can work via their sources.
• Support- I like to work with account manager for long term. Someone I can relay on. I like to get promotions by mails, payment on time, banners and advertising materials if and when I need them. I like to get Emails regarding bonuses and tournaments and I like to have someone who can help me when I need him ( In my case, her ).
• History- What do you know about the affiliate program? Are the affiliates of it happy? How many affiliates it have? Make sure you know where you are going to. There are some bad affiliate programs that are empty house and some other that steal your traffic. Make money online.
• Admin- I’m not sure this is the most important thing by choosing an affiliate program, but try out their reports pages. See that you get work with it, that it has all the statistics that you need and its available for you online.

Now you are an affiliate, Step three will be about your first days and weeks at the affiliate program. How to optimize your start?

My answer is yes and no and that it depends on the type of traffic you have.

Following the success of my best seller (well, it was never actually sold so might as well call it a best reader), traffic = money, I will analyze the use of Google Adsense with a website.

I would like to divide a website traffic in to 2 types which are – targeted traffic and non targeted traffic:

Targeted traffic – Traffic which fits the product on the website. An example to targeted traffic can be a book reader inside a virtual book store.

Untargeted traffic – Traffic which doesn’t fit the product on the website. An example to untargeted traffic can be a little kid inside an adult website.

Targeted traffic and Adsense – If you have a website with targeted traffic to the product you advertise – you’re lucky. Google adsense are very good with targeted advertising. The only problem is that a click on the adsense will be worth around $1 – $4, which means you sold your traffic for cheap.

Let’s take an example in which you sold a $100 worth product on your website (through an affiliate program or so) and it took 20 clicks per sale – you are already ahead with a $5 worth of click.

Untargeted traffic – If you have an untargeted traffic website, join the club. There are millions of websites just like yours just waiting for some attention. An untargeted click on the google adsense ads will get you between 1 cent to $1 depends on the ad.

To summarize, there are plenty of services similar to google adsense. To tell you the truth, it was once more profitable to place google adsense on the website from several reasons and the main reason is that people didn’t know google adsense and they clicked on it. As the number of clicks decreased so did the payout.

It’s your choice – you know how much your traffic is worth – act accordingly.

Pick up one subject ( or two if you like to work parallel ) and search it over. Which are the affiliate programs? Which are the best ones? How much I get paid? How and when do I get paid? All these are important for you in order to choose the best affiliate program you like to start working is.
