Much like everything else in the real world, real estate has also become an important factor online.

An internet online real estate is not about buying or selling real estate online, it’s about owning online real estate.

I would like to take this moment and define what’s internet real estate:

Internet real estate is a piece of virtual property which can be bought or sold and has a financial value.

An example for an internet online real estate can be a domain name for example: www.how2mm.com – this domain has a value which over the past few months become even higher than its original price of $5. If we were asked to sell this domain, we can estimate it in $10,000 at least of not more.

Another example for an online real estate is a web application like the platform we use to write this blog which is called wordpress.

The value of an online real estate can go either up or down. Take shopping.com domain for example, this domain was bought in a certain price a few years ago and sold for a few millions 10 years later and a few hundred millions later on. The price kept rising because the property got better, it drew a lot of traffic, had a lot of content and so on.

In order to make your virtual real estate better and increase its value you need to work and invest some effort, whether its SEO (Search Engine Optimization) effort which includes content, links and so on, or whether it’s advertising your property and so on.

Just like the real estate you know in the real world, the more the better.
